Dry January- Dry Skin SOS

Hello all! This post is all about Skincare- and more specifically Skincare for dry, dehydrated skin. Since moving to Dublin my skin has had a major overhaul. I was always blessed- in my opinion-with oily/combination skin which I found easier to find primers/powders & foundations for; then throw me into the city & hello air conditioning, stuffy buses & city pollution! Bam! My skin is now ever so unforgivingly dry dry dry. I spent a LOT of money when I first moved up on foundation that didn't cake or flake within hours. I was pulling my hair out and I felt like absolute sh*t! I've always had a good skin care regime and the only two ranges I use are Caudalie and Avene, and my skin seemed ok before make up but half an hour later my face looked cakey, and just awful. I tried Armani, MAC, Sleek, NYX, and nothing was right. Eventually I bought a bottle of Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation (€10.99) and my prayers were answered! Fortified with vitamins this is a highly moisturise and radiance boosting foundation and I am on my third bottle I love it so much! I do however still use MAC studio fix at night when I'm not at work with air con!

My skin is still very dry but I have an amazing recipe of products that I cannot live without.

First off is my Caudalie Gentle Milk Cleanser with sweet almond oil, this takes my make up off with ease & leaves my skin oh so soft. Any regular readers of my blog will know all about my love for Caudalie, it's a 100% natural & organic French range made mainly from grapes. It has never let me down and I will be blissfully married to it for life. Secondly, to give an extra boost of hydration I spray my Avene thermal spring water spray. Avene is another one of my loves, I cheat on Caudalie with it from time to time. Avene is amazing. It's again, French & all natural, and it is made for the most sensitive of skins. The water is like no other water in the world, sourced in the Avene mountains it contains anti soothing & anti inflammatory properties as well as providing intense hydration. It costs €4 and I literally use it for everything.

Next up is one of my FAVOURITE PRODUCTS EVER!!!

A favourite of my sister Romy, this is Caudalie's Overnight Recovery Oil. This oil contains 6 essential oils, 100% natural of course, and overnight this will soothe, calm, nourish and hydrate your skin like nothing else. My skin drinks this. The second you massage it in to your skin it's instantly softened and soothed, and you wake up the next morning with baby like soft skin.

For days when my skin is super dry I add two more things after the oil: the SOS thirst quenching serum also from Caudalie. Serum lovers you NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE. This is like splashing your face with the softest water, giving instant hydration, it's one serum I'm never without. After the serum I lather my skin in the day/night Caudalie Vinosource moisture recovery cream. I know this sounds like a lot, but because Caudalie/Avene are natural they don't just sit on your face! they penetrate deep in to your skin and actively work to repair your skin.

This is what works for me, what products do you swear by?

These can all be bought in Foody's Pharmacy Harcourt Street Dublin and Ballina and some leading stockists.

Until next time my loves,

Til debt do us part,

Elisha x :)
